Draftcade is the latest arcade bar to open in Omaha. What makes this one a bit unique is that it sits next door to Funny Bone, making it the perfect place to grab a bite to eat, a drink, or play a few games while you wait for the show.
Like Beercade and Capitol Arcade, it’s tapping into nostalgia aimed at adults who grew up playing classic arcade games like Pac-Man, Asteroids, BurgerTime, NBA Jam, Galaga, and the like.

While it seems most of the arcade bar concepts are near downtown or in Benson, this one is located in West Omaha at 114th and Miracle Hills Drive. I dropped in before watching Steven Ho and played a few games. Another thing that sets this place apart is that a wristband allows you to play all of the games for just $10. It features 75 retro arcade games in addition to pinball, hoops, skee-ball, and some others. Personally, I love the idea of getting rid of quarters, tokens, or card swipes in order to play a few games.

The bar offers 48 rotating tap beers, wine, and specialty drinks. The kitchen menu includes appetizers, burgers, sandwiches, salads with house-made dressing, bowls, and even kids’ meals. I found the food to be a step up from what you might expect from an arcade and comedy club.
I don’t think Draftcade is trying to be your favorite restaurant in town, but I think you, like me, will be surprised by the food. You also can’t beat the convenience if you’re catching an act at the Funny Bone.

Draftcade is closed on Monday and opens at 4 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and at noon on the weekends. Closing times range from 9 p.m. to midnight depending on the day. If you’re bringing a kid, keep in mind that they’re only allowed until 8 p.m. For more info, you can check out its website at https://draftcade.com/omaha/.
