It’s been a couple of weeks since I’ve posted about an upcoming new attraction in the area. Let’s fix that by sharing an announcement you may have missed. I recently learned that Slick City Action Park is coming to the area.

Slick City is the first indoor slide and air court park designed for all ages. Its slides are the main attraction here as its proprietary dry-slide technology makes the slides as fast and fun as possible. In order to do so, its founders spent eight years researching the technology with the help of a professor of tribology, which is a field that specializes in how surfaces interact when they slide against one another.

In addition to its variety of slides, the park has other attractions including an air court for basketball and dodgeball, zip rail, laser tag, swing and trapeze, and attractions designed to appeal to younger kids such as go-karts. All of its attractions are developed in-house.

Headquartered in St. Louis and Nashville, the company claims that it is the fastest-growing brand in the family entertainment center industry. It opened its first location in 2022 in Denver. Since then, it’s grown to 22 locations that are currently open, 35 more under construction, and another 72 franchises that have been awarded.

Targeting an early 2027 opening, Slick City will be housed in a 41,000-square-foot building near Westport Parkway and West Giles Road in La Vista. That would make it one of its larger locations. The park will be available for special events such as birthdays and team outings and will offer special dates and times for kids under seven years old, people who experience sensory sensitivity, and adult nights and after-hours events when the lights are turned off and the neon is turned on.

Part of the ownership group for the La Vista location is Dan Bryant who previously owned the Sky Zone Trampoline Park in Fargo. His group was also awarded franchises in Fargo and Sioux Falls.

Based on the description, I think this is where the new park will be located.
