While the Bellevue Bay Indoor Water Center gets much of the attention, Papillion recently announced plans to expand its Papio Bay Aquatic Center.

Opened in 1994 and located in Halleck Park, the water park currently features a zero-depth pool, two waterslides, two diving boards, a sand volleyball court, concessions, a bathhouse, as well as a sand play area and a butterfly slide for the littles.

Once completed, the expanded pool will include six lanes, a new diving area, additional waterslides, a lazy river, and a kids’ play area with interactive spray features, along with an expanded bathhouse and other upgrades. The sand volleyball court is expected to be relocated, though its future location has not yet been determined.
