I can’t say that I was disappointed when a part of the Conagra campus was demolished to make way for the Brickline at the Mercantile. If you haven’t been downtown in a while, the Brickline opened in 2023. Along with 379 apartments, it has 35,000 square feet of ground level retail across between The Old Market and Heartland of America Park.

I recently got the opportunity to visit one of the new(ish) businesses that call the Brickline home: Cham Pang Lanes at 910 Harney Street. This is the second location with the original being in Phoenix. Full of neon lights and bright colors, it’s not traditional bowling but duckpin bowling with hand-sized balls, shorter lanes and smaller pins (similar to Bob & Willie’s in Blackstone before it closed).

Operated by Flagship Restaurant Group, Cham Pang whose name is a play on champagne offers cocktails, beer, champagne of course, wine and a menu that includes nachos, tacos and quesadillas. Lanes can be rented by the hour between $5-$15 per person.

For those looking for something to do on New Years Eve, they are hosting an event called Midnight Strikes. See the photo below for more details.

Other restaurants and bars in the Brickline include Ghost Donkey, Tupelo Honey Southern Kitchen and Memoir.
