This weekend only is the Holiday Market at Aksarben Village. This was my first time and the line at the entrance was a bit long but don’t let it discourage you; it moves quickly. Admission (and parking) is free, and the tent is heated so it provides a comfortable atmosphere to shop, snack and have a cocktail if you desire. This was my first time visiting and found it to be an enjoyable experience despite the crowd.

It features dozens of local vendors including Adagio Soap, Artemis Tea & Botanical, Benson Brewery, Carter & Rye, Erick’s Enchiladas, Glacial Till Vineyard, Jisa Farmstead Cheese, Julia M Illustrates, Kookaburra Cookies, Mazzy Collars, Mercury Lounge, Rally Coffee, The Nut Hutte, Tightly Wound Knitwit, Timbo’s Spice, Volcanic Pepper and so many more. The market is open from 10-5 on Saturday and Sunday. Santa will make a visit on Sunday from 11-3.

I picked up a smore’s cookie to share at Kookaburra Cookies. Described as a strumble cookie, it has the crumbly topping that you often find on muffins and cakes but fused with a cookie.
