On the southwest corner of 72nd and Farnam Streets, a five-story mixed use building will rise. The site is currently occupied by Jimmy John’s and was formerly the home to The 20’s.

1965 Durham Museum photo of the site at 72nd and Farnam that will be redeveloped.

Led by Lockwood Development, the building will not only serve as the future home to the sandwich shop but also Williamsburg Pizza in addition to 176 market rate apartments. Located near the ORBT bus route, it will have 212 parking stalls split between a parking garage on the first two levels of the building and a surface parking lot. Construction is underway and is expected to be completed next year.

The building will sit just south of the future flagship branch of Omaha’s Public Library. Located next to a US Bank and across from a 1950’s era two-story strip mall that was home to Gamer’s and the Game Room, the area is finally seeing some much need development including Gamescape at The Crossroads.
