Five years after Crossroads Mall on 72nd and Dodge Streets was demolished, the land that sits along one of the most traveled intersections in Omaha should soon see some construction.

On the site 42-acre site will rise The Crossroads, an $850M mixed use development led by Woodbury Corporation. The Crossroads will include a public plaza in addition to residential, retail, office and parking structures.

The groundbreaking scheduled for June 2025 is for Gamescape, a 90,000 sq ft entertainment venue that is reminiscent of Family Fun Center which was located a few blocks east for decades. Developed by the Cinemark movie theater chain, it will include a bowling alley, arcade, laser tag, full-service restaurant and movie screens.

While Cinemark has been around since the 1970s and operates hundreds of movie theaters across the country, Gamescape is a new concept and recently opened its first location in El Paso, Texas.
