My schedule hasn’t allowed me time to explore some of the new projects around time lately but this is one I wanted to share. In addition to the new baseball and softball fields in North Downtown, Creighton is also in the process of creating the Quadrangle on its campus.

The six acre space will become the epicenter of activity on campus and will be used to host events including graduations and reunions as well as community activities. The space will include natural grass, amphitheatre, pavilion, stage, fountain plaza and an ellipse with an art installation. The Quadrangle will be surrounded by four new residence halls as well as the dentistry building, law center and college of business.

It will be built atop of where the current baseball practice and softball fields are located. Work will begin after the College World Series. I previously posted about the new baseball and softball fields that are currently under construction near 17th and Cuming Streets. Both Automatic Printing Company and Grace Tabernacle Church will be saved.

The school refers to this as on of the most sweeping projects in its 150-year history. It will use philanthropic donations to fund the project that is expected to cost as much as $25M.
