Greenslate Development recently announced that it will build a $45M, 5-story apartment complex in Blackstone. The building will rise at 35th and Farnam Streets where WOWT once sat until it moved into Blackstone Plaza next door. The former TV station building was constructed in 1950 will be demolished to make way for the new building.

The apartment building will consist of 180 units ranging from studios up to two-bedrooms with monthly rents between $1,200 and $2,800 per month. Amenities will include a resort-style pool, grilling areas, fire pits, a dog wash station and dog park. Because it is located along the future streetcar route, the apartments will have 90 parking stalls.

Greenslate is largely credited with starting the redevelopment of the Blackstone District a decade earlier. As with other projects in mid-and-downtown, the project is expected to add density to the urban core thereby creating walkability while also attracting and retaining a young workforce. The apartments are expected to be completed by spring 2027.
