Flappers and Fizz is a roaring 1920s themed party that the Durham Museum has hosts annually. The Art Deco styled former Union Station train is the ideal place for such an event and offers lots of space to spread out and mingle. Inside there were three speakeasies hidden throughout the building each with a signature cocktail, two cash bars, hors d’oeuvres and other snacks available at the soda fountain, music, dancing and even a murder mystery to solve.

It’s been a while since I’ve had a chance to go to one but I love it when places like Durham, Lauritzen Gardens and the Jolsyn hold events like these. If this sounds like fun to you, make sure you keep an eye out for similar events in the future.
