Construction has started on The Nook apartments and townhomes. The complex will consist of 10 buildings on empty lots on 8th, William and Worthington Streets surrounding Pine Elementary School. The area had been the longtime home of Grace University before it was razed and replaced with the new school.
The name of the development is a nod to being a new addition to the long-established Dahlman Park neighborhood which is home to both Little Italy and Little Bohemia. They see it as a neighborhood within a neighborhood, like a small nook in the larger landscape of the area.

Each of the buildings will be three stories and make up a total of 250 units most of which will be one bedroom though some will be two bedroom. The developers will provide 264 parking spaces for residents of the market-rate complex. They will target tenants who utilize different modes of transportation such as bikes and busses. Amenities include “micro pocket parks” with fire pits, grills and seating areas open to the neighborhood.
