At the southwest corner 37th and Farnam rises a nine story apartment complex. It sits west of the Cottonwood Hotel. The new structure replaces a surface parking lot and a century old house turned apartment. Once considered a part of the Gold Coast, large mansions once lined Farnam Street. The only one that remains is the Storz Mansion at 3708 Farnam across the street from the 37 West Farnam Apartment structure.

The old apartment complex that was razed to make way for the massive new structure. This was the remaining section of what was once a larger building that can be seen in the picture below.

The building includes ground level retail large enough for about 10 stores with a 384 stall parking garage above and below the retail space and 161 market rate apartments on the upper floors. The building is being designed so that it is conducive to small businesses so that they can complement the existing businesses in Blackstone.

The apartment complex is expected to be the last major piece of development along Farnam in the Historic Blackstone District. It’s height is expected to give the area a more elevated, larger city experience. It is expected to open in Spring 2025.
