The home to Berkshire Hathaway was constructed in 1961 as Kiewit Plaza. Located at 3555 Farnam Street across the street from the Blackstone Hotel. The building was named for Peter Kiewit Sons, Inc who led the development team for the project. When it opened, the building featured men’s and women’s clothier’s Parsow’s and Topp’s, The Fountain Room restaurant as well as business and residential space on the main floor.

Following the redevelopment of the Blackstone District neighborhood of which the building sits, it was purchased by Blackstone Plaza LLC in 2019. Extensive renovations took place to modernize the space while retaining its mid-century modern vibe. The building remains the home to Berkshire Hathaway and recently added WOWT Channel 6. The concourse level features a fitness center and barber shop. This fall, HomeGrown, a regional restaurant chain that serves breakfast, brunch and lunch will open in the western side of the first floor.
