Then and Now: Photos between 39th and 40th and Farnam in Blackstone. While the businesses have changed, most of the buildings remain. The only exception I believe is the dialysis center building on the northwest corner of 40th and Farnam.

The north side of Farnam:
Then (1930): Cozette’s Pastry Shop, Piggly Wiggly, Barbershop, West Farnam Hardware, Wilkie & Mitchell Grocery and a service station/garage.

Now (2024): Scriptown Brewing Company, Lazy Buffalo BBQ, Achetype Coffee, Mula and DaVita Dialysis Center.

The south side of Farnam:
Then (1930): Dundee Plumbing, Cafe, Cleaners, Green’s Pharmacy, M. Selicow Tailer, West Farnam Barber Shop, Mrs. Noble’s Tea Room, Restaurant and Delicatessen.

Now (2024): Greenslate Apartments, Coneflower Creamery, Pranam Yoga Shop, Sullivan’s Bar, Noli’s Pizzeria, Antidote, Cheeseburger, Ground Floor Guitar, Landlock Gallery, Artemis.
